The Vintage Station Web Site

You will now find a "Calendar of Events" on our web site www.vintagestation.com. We have just started publishing listings of coming events such as, meetings, parties, educational forums, special guests, and wine tastings. Check it out and add it to your favorites so you don't miss any events at Vintage Station.

At Vintage Station we offer 79 different varieties of wines, and our list is growing every week. Of those 79 wines, 64 are offered by the glass. With that many wines ranging from $5 to $13 a glass, no one on the coast comes close to matching Vintage Station in selection, quantity, and quality.

Plans are in the works to promote Thursdays as Singles Pairings day at The Station. We want all of you single girls and guys to come out and well.. meet. We are working on a wine and food special that we hope will be as attractive as the people that show up on Thursdays. Hummm.. maybe our Sweet and Savory Dates from the desert menu would fit in.

The Vintage Station World Tour is also on the drawing board at this time. Because we offer wines from all over the "old world" and the "new", we thought that.. if you try at least one wine from each region or appellation you should earn something special. A stamped Vintage Station Passport issued in your name will be the official record. Maybe an all expense paid trip for four to Tuscany. But then.. probably not!

We'll have more details for you as we figure all this out.

A new Mississippi law that took effect on July 1, 2009 allows you to purchase a bottle of wine at Vintage Station and… if you don't drink it all, we can re-seal it and you can take it with you when you leave.
Did you know?…

According to scientist Bill Lembeck there are approximately 49 million bubbles in a bottle of Champagne.

There are 24,000 names for varieties of wine grapes, corresponding to between 5,000 and 10,000 actual varieties. However, only about 150 are commercially important.

One bottle of wine contains about 25.6 ounces, or for those whose think in metric terms 0.75 liters. This is usually considered to be about 5 glasses. As a rule of thumb, it takes about 2.4 pounds of grapes (usually 600 to 800 grapes) to produce a bottle of wine.

Looking at wine production another way, there are about eight bunches of grapes per bottle or three to five bottles per average grapevine.
